So my favorite show is back on and obviously I missed the first episode as I was out of the country last week. But I caught up on YouTube and this week I Tivo'ed it and just finished watching while doing a little morning treadmill.
**If you have not watched the episode yet you might want to stop now since I there might be spoilers below**
So of course we all want to know how Jean-Robert is doing. JR is being the pompous windbag we all know and love. His strategy is to seem like a weak/tight player and then pounce when he sees an opening. He even admits to it in one of the private confessions. He wants to set the bar so low that when he does step up he will look like he is doing above and beyond. It's a very good strategy if you can get away with it and your team wins immunity. But if you go to tribal and you have not proved yourself yet, you might be done.
He also picks a fight with the table captain who tells him flat out that they don't like each other. JR claims that is not true and the captain then says that he still doesn't like him. I love this. I think this is pure genius. Get the table captain to show his feelings and get ready for a showdown when you have the better hand. What a setup!
I hope you're all McLoving these poker analogies I am working hard to come up with. The reason I love this show is because it is a game of incomplete information. Just like another game I've heard about.
Then there's the video montage of the snoring and the yawning monkey. I think just this segment warrants a best editing Emmy for the show. Nuff said.
And on to the belly scratch. The reward challenge is about to start and JR is one of a team of three about to get down and dirty in the mud. He could not seem more disinterested in the proceedings, leaning backwards and giving his round belly a good 'ole belly scratch. Once again - I love it. Then he uses his size and strength to basically take down the challenge while having Ashley the pro-wrestler wrist-deep in his ass-crack the whole way. Eventually he gets tired of the ass grabbing and slams her head in the mud. What a gentle man and a gentleman.
As for Ashley, I loved her at tribal council. When she writes Dave's name she actually says "I vote for Derek Zoolander.... ummm... Dave". It's almost as good as Chicken screaming DAMN when he was voted out last week.
Can't wait for next week. The preview show JR getting in trouble by speaking his mind, but it could be more crafty editing and it could be another strategic move. We'll just have to wait and see.
